#NirjalaEkadashi is the most important and significant Ekadashis out of all twenty four Ekadashis in a year. Nirjala means without water and Nirjala Ekadashi fasting is observed without water and any type of food.
 
#Significance – Devotees who are unable to observe all twenty fours Ekadashi fasting in a year should observe single Nirjala Ekadashi fasting as fasting on Nirjala Ekadashi brings all benefits of twenty four Ekadashi fasting in a year.
 
 
#RitualsofNirjalaEkadashi:
 
As the name suggests, the Nirjala Ekadashi fast should be observed without drinking even a drop of water.
 
The Nirjala Ekadashi fast lasts for 24 hours, starting from sunrise of the ekadashi tithi to the sunrise of the dwadashi tithi.
 
The Nirjala Ekadashi vrat starts the observer eats one meal (without rice) before sunset on 10th Day ( Dashami tithi) , The fast then continues all throughout the Nirjala Ekadashi day. The observer of the vrat ends the fast on the 12th day after worshiping Lord Vishnu and offering food to Brahmins.
 
On the Nirjala Ekadashi day, Lord Vishnu is worshipped with full dedication. Devotees offer Tulsi leaves, flower, fruits and mouth-watering sweets to their lord.
 
The idol of Lord Vishnu is beautifully adorned and worshipped in the evening with dhoop and incense sticks.
 
Reading ‘Vishnu Sahastranaam’ and other Vedic mantras dedicated to Lord Vishnu is considered auspicious on this day. On Nirjala Ekadashi it is a good act to donate clothes, food, water and other essentials to the poor and needy.

Puja can be celebrated by an individual person or in gatherings. The ceremony may be done in silence or accompanied by prayers. Sometimes a puja is done for the benefit of certain people, for whom people ask blessings.

Pooja Samagri

Paan (Bettle leaf), Supari (Bettle Nut), Kumkum (Vermillion), Chaval (Rice), Moli (Pink n Yellow Thread), Gur, Agarbatti (Incence Stick), Nariyal (Coconut), Flowers, Dhruv depart, Dipak, Ghee, Bhog

( Laddo and Modak) and Panchamrit (milk,curd,honey,ghee,rose water).

Steps of a Puja

Each and every sect, family or an individual have their own way of doing Puja. Every time when you say ”samarpayami” (I m offering), offer two akshatha(Rice) with love and devotion to the lord.

Mediate the God i.e Ganesha.:
